  • Yi Feng

    POSTDOC

    Yi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a Master’s degree in Engineering, and a PhD in Chemical Engineering. His research focuses on the numerical simulation of multiphase flows involved in crystallization and emulsification processes.

  • Michel Orsi

    POSTDOC

    Michel holds a Ph.D. in Physics and specializes in the rheology of particulate suspensions. His research integrates experiments and simulations to uncover the physics governing multiphase flows. Currently, he focuses on developing Deep Learning techniques to accelerate particle-scale simulations.

  • Alessio Lombardo Pontillo

    Alessio holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. His research focuses on computational modelling and mathematical upscaling of the electrochemical transport in lithium-ion batteries.

  • Nunzia Lauriello

    POSTDOC

    Nunzia holds a Phd in Chemical Engineering, that was focused on advancing Dissipative Particle Dynamics (DPD) as a computational rheology tool. Her research currently deals with the use of coarse-graining techniques and machine learning tools to model soft matter systems.

    Francesco holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. His research uses computational methods at different scales to understand the rheology of structured fluids and improve predictions of their viscosity.

    Mazhar holds a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering. His research combines machine learning and CFD modelling to accelerate the simulation of multiphase flows in mixing equipment.

  • Andrea Querio

    Andrea hold a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. His research (primarily funded by Electrochemistry Group) mainly focuses on the modelling of Lithium-Sulfur cells at the pore scale to deeper understand the effect of dissolution and precipitation reactions on the global electrochemical performances of the battery.

    Michele holds a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Chemistry. His research (primarily funded by the Crystals Engineering group) combines experiments, thermodynamic models and machine learning to better understand the crystallization of edible fats.

    Diego holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. His research (primarily funded by CREST group), focuses on the experimental characterization and CFD modelling of multiphase catalytic packed-bed reactors for efficient and sustainable hydrogen production.

    Elisa holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Her research focuses on microstructure-resolved simulations of lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, examining how electrode architecture, material composition, and interfacial processes influence cell performance

    Ghasem is currently doing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino (primarily funded by ComfortLAB group), concering the design of technical fabrics through numerical modeling and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

  • Vittorio Buscarnera

    PhD STUDENT

    Vittorio holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. His research focuses on fluid dynamics simulations of highly non-Newtonian fluids, coupled with the study of particles interactions inside a counter-rotating twin-screw extruder, to better understand the underlying phenomena and propose potential optimizations.

    Jacopo holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. His research (primarily funded by Crystals Engineering group) investigates peptide crystallization and process modelling to better understand nucleation and growth mechanisms.

    Sergio hold a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. His research (in collaboration with ComfortLLAB group) focuses mainly on the modeling of multiphase flow in porous media with the aim of better understanding the absorption and swelling phenomena occurring within AHPs and optimizing their design.

  • Martina Gilardi

    RESEARCH FELLOW

    Martina holds a Master’s degree in Chemical and Sustainable Processes Engineering. Her research focuses on the application of Machine Learning techniques for chemical engineering, with particular  emphasis on their implementation in food's shelf-life predictions and their coupling with computational fluid dynamics simulations.

  • Martina Gaia Baeli

    RESEARCH FELLOW

    Martina holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Her research (in collaboration with the Crystals Engineering Group) investigates carbonated compounds precipitation and process modelling in order to explain nucleation and growth mechanisms and improve understanding of fouling effects, in order to optimize equipment and process management.
